The HPRS department will host a seminar by Prof. James Sweet, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, on the topic:
“Africanizing the Atlantic World”
Friday 2 September, 4pm
Professor Sweet‘s research interests center on Africans and their descendants in the broader world. He has published on the social and cultural histories of Africans in the Atlantic world. His next project will focus on the international dimensions of slavery in the United States. He has also begun several research projects related to South Africa.
This week, Professor Sweet is visiting the HPRS, auditing some of our classes, consulting with Faculty member, and meeting students to help us improve our teaching, research profile, and service to the NU community.
